(AP) ? On a day that Tiger Woods struggled with his putting stroke, a pair of older guys stood out in the morning round at the Greenbrier Classic.

Vijay Singh shot a 7-under 63 to post the best score among the early finishers Thursday on the Old White TPC Course.

Jeff Maggert, who at 48 is a year younger than Singh, and Martin Flores both shot a 64. J.B. Holmes, U.S. Open champ Webb Simpson and Andres Romero were a shot further back after 65s.

Woods, coming off last week's win at Congressional, stumbled on the par-5 17th. He drove into a hazard, took a penalty and three-putted from 20 feet for double-bogey. He finished with a 1-over 71.

Phil Mickelson and defending champion Scott Stallings played together in the afternoon.
